About the project:
Rachel came to me with a Squarespace 7.1 site that she was unhappy with. Her top concerns were: budget, timeline, and whether she’d need to switch to a new Squarespace account (she’d heard horror stories about this). Plus, she had a complete booking and commerce system in place, and she wanted it to stay as-is.
I assured her she would not need to sign up for a new Squarespace plan and mapped out a two-week timeline.
Rather than a custom site build, Rachel opted for a site restyle.
RACHEL’S PROJECT INCLUDED:
Organizing her content so it was displayed more professionally
Making copy recommendations to improve the clarity of her message
Tweaking how her color palette was used on the site for more cohesion
Adjusting her header tag sizes and placement for better SEO
Selecting better stock photography to elevate her brand while conveying authenticity
Cleaning up her navbar for easier usability
Adding her custom brand font along with customized CSS style adjustments
Adjusting the mobile view so everything scales beautifully on various device sizes
I set up Rachel’s demo site on my Squarespace account, keeping her site live during the production phase. On launch day, we put up a ‘getting a makeover today’ page while we migrated the revamped styles and design into her Squarespace account — quality-checking along the way. The migration took 1 hour. The entire project took two weeks.
